Description
The Mercury Sable launched alongside the Ford Taurus for 1986 and shared its revolutionary aerodynamic platform, but featured its own distinct dashboard with a unique light bar spanning the full width of the instrument panel. The Sable's vinyl dash pad is particularly susceptible to UV damage due to the steeply raked windshield, and cracking along the top surface is a widespread issue on surviving examples. This Dashtop molded dash cover is formed from UV-resistant ABS plastic to fit the 1986-1989 Sable's specific instrument panel contours, installing directly over your original factory dashboard, which must remain in place to serve as a solid foundation.
Installation is fast and simple: clean the existing dash, apply the included silicone adhesive, and press the Dashtop overlay into position. After curing, the cover bonds permanently and provides a smooth surface that shields the original pad from further UV deterioration. Made in the USA and backed by Dashtop's lifetime warranty.
